You are choosing to become part of the SPARTAN athletic family. You will wear the name of Villa Park, a school that takes pride in its academics and elite sports programs. In becoming a SPARTAN Track and Field athlete, you are to uphold the vision, the goal, and pride of YOUR TEAM. As a SPARTAN, you are to conduct yourself and portray the image of Villa Park.
Practice – You must be dressed in practice appropriate attire.
Uniform – Singlets are VILLA PARK property. You will be responsible to return the singlet at the end of the track season in the condition that you received. If for any reason your singlet was damaged, stained, or etc., you will have to pay for the singlet. ($80) Shorts must be black TEAM NIKE running shorts. (NO BASKETBALL SHORTS)
Meet days – As a SPARTAN athlete, you are to take pride in being part of the TEAM. You are to wear your track TEAM shirt and/or the TEAM sweater to school.
Traveling to Meet – To our meet destination, every SPARTAN should be wearing VP track TEAM shirt/sweater and warm-up pants (NIKE fleece pants). You are to wear them until the TEAM has finished the pre-lap warm-up and stretch when entering the track.
If you fail to comply, the following disciplinary action will take place.
1st offense – Warning 2nd offense – Running after practice 3rd offense – 1 or 2 events will be taken away 4th offense – You will not participate in the upcoming meet.
1. Be On TIME All athletes need to report to the field by 2pm for announcements and stretching. You may only be dressed in attire which is conducive to workout.
2. Attendance It is vital that athletes are at practice daily. If you are unable to attend practice, you must check-in with COACH VO and your POSITION COACH. 1st offense: Reminders/Corners 2nd offense: Removal from upcoming meet 3rd offense: Removal from upcoming meet and/or removal for the team. Continued non-participation (not dressing out, non attendance, refusing to comply with coaches) will result in removal from team.
3. Grade At the conclusion of the grading period, a P.E. grade will be assigned. Your grade will b based on participation in a meet or miss an event within the meet that your coach has entered you. To be eligible, all athletes must have at least a 2.0 GPA and evidence of a physical exam and insurance coverage for the current school year.
